The port does not see itself as a business entity isolated from the community.

The Port of Belledune provides direct and indirect employment in the surrounding region. In addition, the port is actively involved in the community as an events-sponsor and as a key supporter of community initiatives. It has, to date, been involved in projects that relate to a healthier local environment, that are concerned with the health and well-being of school children, that are reflective of local arts and culture, and that help address regional and local societal needs.

The port does not see itself as a business entity isolated from the community. It is a part of the community just as the community and the interests of the community lie safely within its mission and values. It holds the fabric of the community in high esteem; the port, since its inception, has been a part of that fabric.

The following stories and photos reflect some of the involvement of the port in the local community that it serves. They provide a good cross-section in terms of how the port and the region work hand-in-hand not only in business but also as friends, neighbours, and citizens of a community – a community in which the Port of Belledune is anchored.
